https://www.publication.idsolutions.co.id/journals/index.php/husocpument/article/view/313
This study is entitled “An Analysis of flashback plot in the Inception Movie.” Movie Inception by Christopher Nolan as the objects of the research. The aims of this study were (1) to describe the plot arrangement of the Inception movie and (2) to describe the type of the plot in the Inception movie. This study used the theory proposed by Holman (1980) to conduct this study. Descriptive and qualitative method were used in this study, in order to collect the data. Such as downloading the movie from the internet, watching and listening to the movie throughly, classifying various fragments of sentences, dialogues, and scenes. Then, examine, analyze, and interpret these fragments in order to understand the plot structure according to the theory. The results reveal that the plot structure of "Inception" includes three main parts: the beginning, middle, and end. The middle part stands out due to its complex problems, which make the story more engaging while still entertaining. Moreover, "Inception" is characterized as a flashback plot structure, with key elements including exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and catastrophe.
Ni Putu Riana Puspitasari Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Humanities, Social Science, Public Administration and Management (HUSOCPUMENT) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2024-10-30 2024-10-30 4 4 11 16 10.51715/husocpument.v4i4.313 Code Switching Found In Selected Video On Najwa Shihab Youtube Channels https://www.publication.idsolutions.co.id/journals/index.php/husocpument/article/view/139
This study concerns with the code switching found in Najwa Shihab YouTube channel. The aims of this study are; (1) to find out the types of code switching found in selected video on Najwa Shihab YouTube channels; and (2) to analyze the reason of code switching found in Najwa Shihab selected videos. Descriptive qualitative method was used for analyzing the data from three selected videos. The theory was applied are from Poplack (as cited in Romaine, 1989) to classify the types of code switching and theory proposed by Hoffman (1991) to identify and analyze the reasons of code switching. The results presented three types of code switching and seven reason for code switching were found. Intra-sentential switching is the most dominant types of code switching found in those three selected videos and the most dominant reason found in the three selected videos is talking about a particular topic.
Ni Putu Krisna Putri Pradnyadita I Komang Sulatra I Made Yogi Marantika Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Humanities, Social Science, Public Administration and Management (HUSOCPUMENT) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2024-10-30 2024-10-30 4 4 10.51715/husocpument.v4i4.139
